Imagination Redefined

Darkshi Creations is a storytelling-first photography brand serving the Gulf Coast, Southeast, and now the Mid-Atlantic. We may have started in South Alabama, but let’s be honest — we go where the magic (and good lighting) takes us. Especially in the beautiful greater DMV, NoVa and upper Appalachians.

We specialize in conceptual portraits, cosplay, intimate weddings, fast cars, fierce fashion, and just a touch of fantasy.

Our style is a mash-up of photojournalism, natural light, and carefully posed chaos — all wrapped in a timeless, cinematic vibe. No trendy filters here. Think film soul in a digital body, made to outlive algorithms and hang proudly on your walls — whether that’s on canvas, metal, or in a scroll-stopping post.

We don’t just take photos. We tell stories.

Our passion is our work. Our clients are our passion.

Let’s make something unforgettable.

But, I’m awkward in front of the camera...

A.Completely. In fact, it’s normal. Most people feel awkward, self-conscious, or unsure when they first step in front of a camera. Especially if they’ve never done a professional shoot before.

Our work is built around creating a space that’s inclusive, affirming, and judgment-free. We work with people of all genders, sizes, identities, orientations, abilities, and backgrounds. Lotus being a plus-size model is a core benefit to our body diversity not being an afterthought in our process. It’s part of the business' foundation.

You don’t need to know how to pose or be “photogenic.” We guide you gently through everything, focusing on movement, emotion, and real connection rather than perfection. The goal isn’t to change how you look. It’s to help you see yourself differently, with more softness, confidence, and truth.

Do you teach photography?

A.Yes, Lotus does!

I offer custom, one-on-one and small group photography classes tailored to your skill level and goals. Whether you’re just getting started, refining your technical foundation, or diving deeper into lighting, posing, and creative storytelling, lessons are built around how you learn and what you want to create.

My teaching background comes from years of hands-on experience working in a professional camera shop (Calagaz Photo), where I received certified training across Sony, Nikon, Canon, and Fujifilm systems. That experience allows me to teach beyond brand loyalty and focus on helping you truly understand your camera, your light, and your creative process.

I also teach lighting techniques, workflow, and posing, making these classes especially helpful for portrait photographers looking to build confidence both behind and in front of the camera.

In addition, I’m a recognized photography educator for Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. And offering structured, approachable instruction for youth programs as well.

If you’re interested in lessons, reach out through the contact page and we’ll build a class and pricing structure that fits your needs.
