Who ever had the bright idea to host this the day after St. Patty's day was having the biggest joke on so many of our local photographers.  But hey, it wasn't as kill us already hot as it was the last one back in August '16!

It was nice returning to Fort Gaines on Dauphin Island.  This time we were sponsored by Tamron and Calagaz.  Which, you can bet your bottom dollar I abused the free rental of their lenses on this.  Nearly everything shot was with a Tamron 70-200mm [G1] or their 24-70.  Now, most know I'm a prime girl.  So playing with something that made it so I wasn't moving as much was a different ball game.  And also allowed me to shoot more in the shade and from different angles and distances than I usually would.  And I kind of loved it.  Not enough to switch, but that 70-200 was a blast thanks to my recent gear changes.  But that's not what this blog is about!

I teamed up with something close to 20 models this shootout.  Many of which I had never had the pleasure of working with.  Most created their own attire.  A rare couple wore the designs of others.  But it was really the fact I got to just play in areas I had ignored during the last shootout.  I'll leave you now with some of my favorites from the event.
